How to get your control back over a situation, or when your mind is going out of control: Become present in the moment.
The more you live in the present moment, the more fear dissapears.”
If you think about it the present moment is all we have, yet our thoughts can take us away from right now leading to stress and anxiety, but calming down and returning to the present moment can get your power back in any situation.
All we have is right now
Life isn’t guaranteed, no one can tell you for definite if your going to be here in 3 years from now, thats why its important to make a commitment to happiness and living in the present moment. Rather than looking for the next moment or re-living the past, look for the little things that are happening right now. It’s the little things in life that count.
Dealing with difficult situations
Recently, I went through a huge crazy strange transitional period and had to deal with situations I couldn’t control, but really worrying and stressing about anything will never help! Bringing myself back to the present moment really helped me get control over my mind, then everything else seemed to fall into place and move forward.
The Power of Now
Ekhart Tole’s Book The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenmentcame to me at the most perfect time! At the beginning of the book, Ekhart explained how he suffered from anxiety and stress and realised all he had to do was come back to the present moment. “If you feel lost, worried/anxious, just bring yourself back to right now.” This book helped me through the process of becoming more present.
It is the most empowering feeling. It does give you your power back of yourself especially when you can’t control what is happening and other peoples behaviour towards you.
Get your Power Back
Elkhart explains that becoming mindful and present in your body at all times, you will transform and change the quality of your life, negativity will not affect you anymore and you will attract better circumstances.
Any situation that happens, remain silent and calm and you will eventually feel at ease. Trust that everything is happening to help and guide you in the right direction.
Acceptance is Freedom
Be present. Let go and accept the situation, trust that everything is happening for the best. Some of the worst times in our lives lead us to the best places! “When you let go, you create space for better things to enter your life.”
Don’t resist change by resisting or forcing a situation that is happening.
